Band Director & Music Theory Teacher

 

Drew Ross, a native of Virginia Beach, joined the Chantilly community in the summer of 2005. Prior to his appointment as a band director at Chantilly, Mr. Ross assisted with the formation of the UVA Marching Cavalier Band, serving as a Graduate Intern, instructor, arranger, and drill writer. In the spring of 2005, Mr. Ross also served as Graduate Conducting Assistant with the undergraduate conducting course at University of Virginia, and was a guest conductor of the University of Virginia Wind Ensemble.

Prior to his appointment at U.Va., Mr. Ross taught Band and General Music at the Paramount Charter Academy in Kalamazoo, Michigan (2003-2004). Mr. Ross is an alumnus of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (1999-2001, 2002 staff), where he served as brass line captain and soprano soloist, as well as the Tarheel Sun Drum and Bugle Corps (1997-1998).  Professional affiliations include the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, the International Trumpet Guild, and is an honorary member of the Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity, Beta Chi Chapter.
