| Chaperones inf buses |
2 per bus |
2 per bus. Get a master list from Mr. Taylor for students going.
Assign one parent to be responsible for bus |
| Go to Patriot Center early with coolers, ice, and soda |

Coolers work well. The large trashcan with plastic liner works well
also if coolers are not available. One problem with the trash cans is
that as the ice melts the drinks are at the bottom of some very cold
water. If you can use coolers it would work best. Place them at the
end of the line for pizza so the students can get their drink as they
leave. |
| Go to Patriot Center early to receive pizzas and set up sodas. Need
to be in a room where they can be monitored. |
2-3 |
|
The room that is used is on lower level accessable from the loading
dock and next to where the students will be performing. Has two
counters along the walls and an entrance and exit door. |
| Pizzas ordered (30 last year - ordered by Mr Taylor |
|
Mr. Taylor |
Keep the type of pizza simple. Since you are "pushing" the students
through so fast there was not a lot of time for selection. |
| Buy and bring Napkins, paper plates. |
|
|
I used the "giant" brand paper plates and they were not a good
quality. Buy about 1 1/3 plates per student. Equal number of
napkins. |
| bring knife or pizza cutter. |
|
|
|
| Bring trash bags and paper towels |
|
|
The Patriot center provides large rolling trashcans for clean up.
They are located in the room to the right of the loading dock as you
go out the building. |
| Make sure to know where the bus drivers will be during ceremony. |
|
|
Assign to one of the parents on the buses. The bus that contains the
instruments should park next to the loading dock to unload and load
the instruments. The other buses will most likely park in one of the
further parking lots. Make sure all students are aware of their
location prior to unloading. Also make sure all students and teachers
know the way out of the building. They should leave via the loading
dock, not the other exits. This year we "lost" the orchestra when
they went out another way. |
| make sure to know exactly where the buses will be after the ceremony. |
|
|
| Mr. Taylor and Mr. Johnson take own cars |
|
|
|
| directions to graduation. |
|
|
Will be needed for any parent driving. Strongly suggest that they
take the buses instead. Heavy traffic. If they are driving
themselves I suggest they go down Bradock instead of route 50. |
| monitor students - supply students with tickets for food and drink. |
|
|
Hand stamps worked well for this. Make sure the chorus and orchestra
are "stamped". Suggest each bus has a stamp and the parents do the
students as they board. We did have an issue with some chorus
students who were not stamped. |
| 380 drinks minimum (include enough for adults). One drink with pizza
and a second for band after they played (when the seniors are
receiving deplomas.) |
|
|
While soda worked well (get some diet as well as regular) water was a
big hit. I would suggest over half the drinks be water. |
| hard candy (4 to 5 bags) |
|
|
The candy went over well. Again keep the selection simple. |
