The most visible ensemble of the band program is Chantilly's award-winning
Marching Band! This group is actually made up of three distinct units:
the marching band, the “pit,” and the color guard. They perform at
football games, in parades, at festivals, and at frequent competitions.
The August-October period is a busy 3-4 months, but promotes unparalleled
teamwork that carries over to all other groups! They also perform at pep
rallies, public events, and school spirit events. Hear us play a school favorite: Chantilly
Lace and the school Fight
Song. Click here to hear additional performances of the Mighty Marching Chargers.
Welcome to the 2007 Season!!

To all 2007
Mighty Marching Chargers,
Welcome, EVERYONE, to 2007 season of the Mighty Marching
Chargers. We are excited, once again, to get underway on another journey
with the students. To the new members, welcome to the
Chantilly family! You are about to embark on an amazing
adventure.
The MMC will compete at TWO Bands of America regional events
again this year! September 29 we will head once again to Michigan. This year
the first B.O.A. regional will be at Eastern Michigan
University in Ypsilanti. Our second B.O.A. regional will
be at Towson University in Maryland. All of the
competitions and band events are posted on the band
calendar. Remember to always check the Chantilly Band Homepage for
updates and announcements.
This year's show is entitled
New World...New Home. A meaningful
show about the Journeys, Friendships, Communities and Joys of establishing a
new home in this new world. We are using the music from composers Joseph
Curiale, Peter Boyer, Aaron Copland, James Peterson and Antonin Dvorak as
the source material for this show. All of the music and visual presentation
are integrated to appeal to as many types of people as possible emotionally
and intellectually. We hope you appreciate the effort that is invested to
improve this season's performances, as well as the performances themselves.
The staff is really excited about the
show and can’t wait for the season to begin! You can see the
dates for the Chantilly Band's 2007-2008 School Year on
the
Chantilly Band Calendar.
Sincerely,
Mr. Taylor & Mr. Ross
We are quite proud of all the members of the Mighty Marching Chargers and
especially proud of our Drum Majors Michelle Beatty and
Amy Fuentes. They represent us so well and are fantastic
leaders and musicians.
