Applications - Currently, the Tri-M Society is accepting
applications for 2007-2008. You can fill out the online
application by clicking
here. Applications turned in after 10/26/2007 will not
be accepted. Returning members must also complete the
online application, but do not need to fill in the essay
portion.
Volunteer News - Please take note of any volunteer
opportunities you have completed throughout the year. You
will be asked to add them to the end of year survey, which is
due June 8, 2008.
Member Dues - Membership dues are set for 2007-2008 at
$10 for new members and $7 for returning members. October
26 is the due date for returning members, and November 2 for new
members.
End of Year Survey - You must complete this
survey by June 8, 2008 to earn your tassel or officer cord.
All non-graduating students must complete the form to retain
your membership to Tri-M for the next school year.
Volunteer Opportunities - There are many opportunities to volunteer
during the school year at CHS. Click
here to see the schedule, and e-mail
Mr. Ross or sign up on the Band Room door for specific
events.
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is the international music honor society
that motivates and recognizes musical achievement for students in secondary
schools.
Provides recognition and rewards for student achievement and
service
Strengthens the school's music program
Builds awareness of the importance of music in our school and
community
Encourages positive interaction between instrumental and vocal
students and faculty
Motivates and challenges students to achieve on a higher level
Membership Requirements
Members are selected based on scholastic and musical achievement, leadership
potential, as well as community service involvement.
To qualify, an applicant must:
Be enrolled in a performing music class at Chantilly
High School (guitar lab, piano lab, and/or music theory students are not
eligible unless they are also enrolled in a band, orchestra, or choral
course)
Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
Complete a survey highlighting your community service and
participation in school-related events, earning a minimum of 10 service
hours per year (15 for graduating students).
